The Moose had three games over the weekend, managing to win the first two before dropping the third on Sunday afternoon. The Moose(3-1) now sit in first place in North Division, 1 point ahead of the Hamilton Bulldogs(2-0-1).
Friday at Rochester Americans
Manitoba defeated Rochester 7-2, scoring 5 goals in the second period. Forward Lee Goren led the way with a hat-trick and an assist. Ryan Kesler had 3 points(1g,2a), while Kiril Koltsov also picked up a goal and 2 assists. Wade Flaherty got the win.
Saturday at Cleveland Barons
Manitoba picked up their third victory of the season defeating Cleveland 6-4. This time it was Jason King leading the way with a hat-trick, Peter Sarno added 3 assists, while Nolan Baumgarter added a goal and an assist with 7 shots on goal. Alex Auld stopped 22 of 26 shots for his first win of the season.

Sunday at Hamilton
Despite outshooting Hamilton 36-29, the Moose dropped their fist game of the season, losing 4-3. Wade Flaherty picked up the loss, while Jason King had a goal and an assist. King now leads the AHL in scoring.
Next up for Manitoba is their home opener Friday night against the Edmonton Road Runners. The first televised Moose game will be on Sunday October 31st.
Finally here is a story on Moose defenseman Jonathan Aiken. Aitken was picked 8th overall in 1996 by the Boston Bruins, he signed with the Canucks in the off-season.
