Rogers Sportsnet will air 24 AHL hockey games this season, 11 featuring the Manitoba Moose. The action starts October 31st, with the Manitoba Moose visiting the Hamilton Bulldogs. Also of note, on November 17th the first game at the brand-new MTS Centre in Winnipeg will be televised.
Press Release and Full Schedule
Am I the only one a little disappointed with the number of games? With the NHL lockout, I was hoping for at least 20 Moose games. It's not like Sportsnet has anything else to show during the winter. This seems like a missed opportunity for both the American Hockey League and Sportsnet. Oh well, 11 will have to do.
Other Moose Notes:
The Winnipeg Free Press has an article on Vancouver's 4th round pick in the 1998 entry draft, Justin Morrison
The Moose season is set to get underway Wednesday when they visit Wilkes-Barre. Before then, they have two exhibition games Friday and Saturday. After the exhibition games team management will be making cuts.
And finally here is a story on Canucks goaltender consultant Ian Clark and his work with Alex Auld and Wade Flaherty.
Oh and when I get a chance, I will have something on TSN's proposed solution to the NHL lockout. In the meantime, check it out for yourselves.
