Manitoba Moose Win Opener

The Manitoba Moose defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 6-3 Wednesday night. Wade Flaherty stopped all 16 shots he faced in relief of Alex Auld, who allowed 3 goals on 4 shots. Moose veteran Jimmy Roy had a pair of goals, including the game winner, along with an assist. Jason King also had 2 goals and an assist, Peter Sarno picked up 1 goal and 1 assist while Ryan Kesler also picked up a goal.

The Canucks first round pick from the 2000 draft, Nathan Smith, was injured in the 3rd period and did not return.

The Moose are now off to Rochester where they will play the first of 3 games in 3 nights, Friday through Sunday.
